An unintended expatriate blogger behind Heath Marble Gale

Hello, I am Noah
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent and an expat living in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term contract gradually opened a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Netherlands wasn't part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly grew into something bigger.
The first months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, and higher expectations. Everyday chores seemed tougher than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, doubt, and a lot of learning on the job. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began to build something steady.
Why I Built Heath Marble Gale
Most online guidance was either corporate relocation tips or shallow travel material. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to fill that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Netherlands.
What This Website Represents (And What It Does Not)
This site stands for:
- Hands-on experience from living in Netherlands
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated only when changes truly occur
This site isn't:
- A resource from a tourism authority
- A platform for sponsored reviews
- Just another generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our time in Netherlands goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue documenting what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Amsterdam or anywhere in Netherlands, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Noah
